Exciting times in the company – rather like Mr Cameron, am endeavouring to form a new team – indeed a few of them – in various areas of the company, as we prepare for the 2 year re-expansion and beyond programme I have set the company.
Our woodwork department has come on leaps and bounds in last six months and is undoubtedly the shining star that gives us all faith. Staff look happier and quality and productivity are up. All the close recording of anything that has given us problems is paying off dividends as in turn they are recorded, studied and eliminated. In the last week, they have been incredibly busy but – when asked – they rose to the challenge and despatched the work in record time. Altogether fantastic.
The finishing unit is being worked on under the close guidance of its new Head. We are a long way from right in there but we have some new trainees coming through and the oldies are being looked at closely to see that they match our new and more exacting standards.
An almost entirely new team in the offices brings challenges and opportunities . Challenges are, of course, to fit high levels of training into what needs to be a heavy workload. The opportunity, however, it to have the team running exactly how I want it to, having rather stood back from this area for years with long term staff in place. I intent to achieve better than ever levels of sales and customer service throughout, and take my team back to the days of National Award winning levels.
